Biography
Doug Giombarrese has represented the interests of domestic and international insurers across a broad range of coverage areas for almost a decade. Since joining Skarzynski, he has focused primarily on matters involving directors and officers liability, but also advises on general liability, professional liability, and cyber liability claims. Doug’s practice is comprehensive, as it includes policy analysis, crafting coverage opinions, serving as monitoring counsel, and, when necessary, litigating declaratory judgment actions.
Doug’s experience in the insurance realm – where he has exclusively practiced since graduating law school – enables him to evaluate and address client needs quickly and efficiently. As monitoring counsel, Doug is able to synthesize complex legal issues, most notably in the dynamic areas of securities and insurance law, so that his clients may effectively evaluate risk. In this capacity, Doug has assisted in the successful resolution of high-value first and third-party claims involving securities fraud, fiduciary liability, and corporate governance matters. As a litigator, Doug has achieved numerous client victories in courts around the country at both the trial and appellate levels. These victories have included rulings on substantive coverage issues as well as procedural rulings which ultimately resulted in positive settlement outcomes for his clients.
